a "Mothra" of the bride!
That's my signature line beneath my name on emails I send. You may not get it if you've never been a fan of Godzilla movies......I always have been a fan, mostly for the comedic value and the great cheeseball effects.
If you want to throw a fun party, rent a couple bad Godzilla movies. Pour some drinks, and gather your friends around the TV. Turn the sound low and do a "Mystery Science Theater 3000"...homestyle. It's a blast.
Our current modern day monster however, is the "Bridezilla". But, unlike Godzilla, she is not fictional. She is real. Very real. Because I'm in the wedding cake business, I have encountered many Bridezillas...I still bear the scars.
Lucky for me, I have learned to spot Bridezillas early and now I refuse to be tricked by their cunning ways. I do the only noble thing and send them to the competition.
Some people think the video I have linked to is fake. I don't think it is, because I've seen brides actually be this psychotic. Even if the video is fake, it's a good representation of what brides can be like. I've always wanted to take the grooms of these brides aside and say, "Dude! If she's this freaked out on what is supposed to be the 'happiest day of her life', what's gonna happen when you guys have REAL problems? You're SURE you want to go through with this? Is the sex THAT great?" No.......it couldn't be. I think a lot of guys get into bad marriages 'cause they're thinkin' with the wrong head!
I have lots of Bridezilla stories. Like the one bride who called me after her wedding and said that the "off white" buttercream was "too yellow" and it "ruined her whole wedding". She wanted the entire price of her giant wedding cake refunded ($800.00). I just laughed. She got madder and madder. Real buttercream ruined her wedding! I bet the guests were just complaining endlessly as they popped those butter-yellow pieces in their mouth. Real butter! How DARE I!
As I sat there chuckling, she then pulled out what she thought was her "trump card"......that she was going to sue us!
That made me laugh even harder and I said....."allrighty then! See ya in court!"
I'm STILL waiting for that court date.
